The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Las Vegas Raiders this week in a pivotal AFC West matchup, one of the biggest games in the rivalry’s modern history.
Head coach Andy Reid set the tone on Monday when he spoke about the matchup during a video conference with local media.
“I think it’ll be a great atmosphere for a football game,” Reid said. “I think they’ve done a nice job of improving their football team. This is what it’s all about, and I think it will be great for the fans. It’s a heck of a rivalry
over the years, and the better the two teams are, the better the rivalry, so this is what it’s all about.”

Chiefs and Raiders meet in Week 4 with AFC lead on the line | FOX4 KC
For the Raiders, a 3-0 start seemed like a long shot considering the team’s form in prior seasons.
For the first time since 2021, the Raiders come into Week 4 unbeaten at 3-0 and having already matched its win total from last season. In comparison, the Chiefs are halfway to matching their six victories from a disappointing 2025 season.
A crucial point to Sunday’s matchup is both teams have already picked up a divisional win: The Chiefs over the Denver Broncos and the Raiders over the Los Angeles Chargers.

But there’s another side to this. The Chiefs play the Las Vegas Raiders on the road, then the Los Angeles Chargers on the road, which will be two more chances to see if the slop creeps in again.
After that, though, the Chiefs get the Seattle Seahawks and a road tilt against the Denver Broncos, and if Kansas City isn’t executing the way they did during that first win over the Broncos, those little things will suddenly matter a lot more.

“I’ll tell you what,” Reid began. “I will let you guys know when Josh (Simmons) is coming back. I’ll be the first to tell you. So we’ll just see how that all works out.”
Chiefs fans want to know whether Simmons will make his debut in Week 4, mainly because if he doesn’t, the team will have missed a chance to place him on injured reserve. NFL rules require players placed on injured reserve to miss at least four weeks before they can return to practice, be designated to return, and play in a game.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes moved past Joe Montana in terms of career touchdown passes.
Mahomes tallied his 274th career touchdown pass on Sunday, moving him past Joe Montana for 20th on the all-time list. It all helped Mahomes earn his 115th career start (including the playoffs), matching Tom Brady for the most victories through 150 starts in NFL history.
Mahomes also now has 83 career games with multiple touchdown passes, which leads the NFL by eight games since 2018.

Dang, he is just a good football player. I feel like it took Delane a couple of drives to really get his feet wet and get into the rhythm, but once he did, he was a difference-maker on this defense. When you combine him and Nohl Williams on the outside, it’s going to be hard for opposing perimeter wide receivers to have much success against the Chiefs.
