Former Real Madrid player Lucas Vazquez displayed his affection for the Santiago Bernabeu for their tribute to the player in Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over Juventus on Wednesday night.
The Bernabeu had a tifo prepared for Vazquez, and he discussed it in a recent interview.
He said: “The photo on the tifo was from the first game I attended at the Bernabéu. I remember perfectly everything what that day meant to me. I remember what I felt in the stands. That photo represents the hope and magic of the Bernabéu.
“Yesterday, being able to see the tifo at the Bernabéu during a UCL match was impressive. It fills me with pride; it’s hard to express how much I feel when I see that.
“Not even in my wildest dreams would I have imagined anything like this. I’m filled with pride with all these displays of affection, both at my farewell and with yesterday’s tifo.”
Vazquez also talked about the most memorable title he won with Real Madrid, and he gave an answer that will surprise no one.
He said: “My first one in Milan. It was my first season in the first team. Because of how the final went, and I was able to help the team by scoring that penalty. I remember it and it makes my hair stand.”
