Folks, instead of doing an individual post for each player that opts out of the Pinstripe Bowl, we’ll be updating this post instead.
DE Zuriah Fisher (12/23/25)
Lions247 is reporting that Zuriah Fisher is out
of the Pinstripe Bowl and is “no longer with the Nittany Lions” which leads me to believe this isn’t just him sitting out, but rather he’ll look to enter the portal. I say “look to” because Fisher is currently a 6th year senior, and he’ll need a medical waiver from the NCAA for another year of eligibility. That should be possible, as Fisher missed all but two games of the 2022 season due to an offseason injury and missed all of 2024.
OG Vega Ioane (12/12/25)
Vega Ioane announced that he too is going to be forgoing the Pinstripe Bowl, as he announced his intentions to enter the 2026 NFL Draft. After 2.5 seasons as a starter and earning second-team All-B1G honors in 2024 and first-team All-B1G honors in 2025, Ioane has a very good shot at being a Day 1 (1st round) or Day 2 (2nd or 3rd round) pick when the NFL Draft takes place later this spring. Thanks for pancakes, Vega.
RB Nicholas Singleton (12/11/25)
Penn State’s all-time leader in touchdowns scored, Nicholas Singleton, has called it a career in the blue and white. Singleton was a Day 1 contributor for the Nittany Lions, as he ran for 1,061 yards as a freshman. While he had his down seasons — his sophomore and senior years, unfortunately — Singleton will be remembered as a one of the most explosive running backs to play at Penn State. He finished his career with 3,461 rushing yards, 987 receiving yards, and 55 total touchdowns.
DB Zakee Wheatley (12/10/25)
Wheatley joins Durant as the second player on the team to end the season early to train for the draft. Wheatley saw a ton of time on the field during his tenure as a Nittany Lion, playing in 58 (!) games across 5 seasons. He spent the last two as a starter at safety, and finishes his career with 22 tackles, 5 TFLs, 6 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles.
DT Zane Durant (12/9/25)
A three-year starter for the Nittany Lions, Durant is leaving the program early to get a head start on training for the NFL draft. He finishes his Penn State career with 89 tackles, 10 sacks, and 14 TFLs across 54 games.
