The Buffalo Bills’ Wild Card win over the Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t come without consequences. With a short week to prepare for their Divisional Round road game against the Denver Broncos, time is not a friend of those Bills players injured during action this past Sunday.
Absent an official injury report until Tuesday, head coach Sean McDermott shared that wide receiver Gabe Davis suffered a torn ACL after after enduring an ugly tackle while attempting to make a catch against a pair of Jaguars defenders.
Elsewhere at the position, wide receiver Tyrell Shavers is currently being evaluated for a knee injury he sustained during a special teams play.
Of notable concern to Bills Mafia was a postgame photo shared of tight end Dalton Kincaid that showed him in a walking boot. Importantly, Kincaid was on the field with the offense at the end of the game, and McDermott reported that the boot was precautionary — that Kincaid “(s)hould be fine” as shared by Bills reporter Sal Capaccio.
Unfortunately, safety Jordan Poyer has been termed week to week after re-aggravating a hamstring injury. If Poyer can’t suit up, that could mean significant snaps for rookie safety Jordan Hancock or perhaps even defensive back Cam Lewis. Things didn’t go well for Hancock when he came in for Poyer against the Jaguars, where tentative play and some apparent confusion allowed quarterback Trevor Lawrence to find more success in the second half.
There’s also a possibility that safety Damar Hamlin could return to action, having had his 21-day practice window activated ahead of last Sunday’s game in Jacksonville, FL.
