Alex Afari is now available to play again for Kentucky Football as they prepare to face the Oklahoma Sooners.
On Friday, Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Brian Edwards granted a temporary injunction against the NCAA that grants immediate eligibility to Afari and other athletes named in the suit who are seeking a fifth season of eligibility.
Afari’s attorney, Abe Mashni, confirmed on Twitter that the linebacker is cleared to play Saturday.
Heading into Saturday’s game, Kentucky was listing Afari
as questionable to play in anticipation that he could be available to play Saturday, and thankfully, that finally came on Friday.
Afari, who was eligible for the first four games, was forced to sit out the last two games vs. South Carolina and LSU after his previous injunction was dissolved.
While there’s still a ways to go in these court battles, Kentucky once again has Afari eligible, and that’s big for a linebacker room currently without Antwan Smith and Tavion Wallace due to injury.
