After a few years of mixed results with regards to the Spurs’ City Edition uniforms — with a couple of confusing versions that were supposed to represent Hemsfair Park, the site of the 1968 World’s Fair,
but instead reminded fans more of Whataburger — the Spurs are turning back to the start of this decade and bringing back the fan-favorite black uniforms with 90’s fiesta-colored stripes, as well as a new court.
Per the Spurs’ official press release:
The San Antonio Spurs today unveiled their 2025-26 Nike NBA City Edition uniforms and court, presented by Ledger, a bold tribute to the franchise’s past, present and future and a return of the team’s best-selling City uniforms from the 2020-21 season. The retail collection, including the full uniform, will become available for sale at the Spurs fan shops and online at SpursFanShop.com on Tuesday, Nov. 11, and will be celebrated with a free launch party that afternoon, presented by Ledger, at The Rock at La Cantera. For full party details, visit Spurs.com/CityEdition or text FIESTA to 210-444-5940.
As part of the NBA’s league-wide effort to bring back or remix previous City Edition Uniforms, the Spurs will bring back the beloved and historic Fiesta colorway, first introduced in the 2020-21 season and inspired by the team’s 1990 warm-up jackets that first brought the fan-favorite “paintbrush stroke” emblem to the masses. Each version of this theme has represented a distinctly different team, yet all players have shared the same pride in carrying San Antonio’s heritage forward.
The uniform, which will also be worn for the 2026-27 season, once again features the eye-catching Fiesta stripes across the chest against a classic Spurs black background, and shorts with Fiesta-colored stripes down each side. The “San Antonio” wordmark across the chest puts the Spurs home city front and center, grounding the team’s fresh new roster in San Antonio’s rich history and culture and allowing them to step into the legacy left by those before them. The team’s new patch partner, Ledger, appears on each jersey, symbolizing security, innovation, and ownership both on and off the court. As the global leader in digital asset security, Ledger’s partnership reflects the Spurs growing global community and shared commitment to empowering the next generation, from San Antonio to the world.
The Spurs City Edition court displays a brand-new take on the Fiesta theme this season, most notably featuring the paintbrush stroke logo at center court for the first time since 2002, the Spurs last season playing in the Alamodome. Fiesta colors are carried throughout, on the baseline and in the paint, against the background of Spurs black and introducing the logo of their all-new jersey patch partner, Ledger, and longtime partner Self.
There will be 11 games featuring the city edition uniforms and court, beginning with Wednesday, Nov. 12 vs. the Golden State Warriors. I know these were one of my favorite alternates of all time, how about you? Are you excited to see these back, or would you have preferred something new?
