The Washington Commanders announced they are elevating one players for Sunday’s home opener against the Seattle Seahawks.
The team designated Ale Kaho as a standard practice-squad elevation on Saturday. That makes sense considering their lack of depth at linebacker, considering Frankie Luvu’s out with a groin injury and Jordan Magee’s on injured reserve.
Sonny Styles and Leo Chenal should play most every snap on the interior, with Kain Medrano and Kaho in reserve. That also helps bolster the special
teams.
This is Kaho’s second elevation, with a maximum of three. He’ll revert back to the practice squad after the Week 3 contest but, if he’s brought up again, the Commanders would have to add him to the 53-man roster or release him.
The Commanders released their injury report Friday and ruled out five players: QB Jayden Daniels (elbow), RG Sam Cosmi (concussion), S Nick Cross (illness), TE Chig Okonkwo (hamstring), and LB Frankie Luvu (groin).
