Despite the little drops of hope, we all knew this was coming. Notre Dame running back, Jeremiyah Love has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.
Love came to Notre Dame in 2023 as a highly rated running back with a huge amount of upside because of his incredible athleticism. He received a lot of Ricky Watters comparisons as a freshman because of his type of athleticism, speed, and probably because he wore the #12. It was hard to deny that he was going to be really good after seeing him in spots that first
year.
What most people didn’t know, was that Love would arguably become the greatest running back in Notre Dame history. For everything he is and for everything he has done, Love stole thousands of hearts every time he flashed his — and it was truly incredible. He gave Notre Dame fans a real Heisman campaign to watch, and regardless of the third place finish, we all know who the best player in college football was in 2025.
It’s really not Love’s departure that hurts, but the way he had to finish his career with Notre Dame. He was robbed — hell we were all robbed. The mental gymnastics of the playoff committee made sure Jeremiyah Love never took another handoff for the Irish, and that’s a hard pill to swallow.
Jeremiyah Love is at the top of every running back draft board, and mock drafts are all over the map with where he may end up in the NFL. As a top 5 talent, he won’t have to wait long to hear his name called, and all I can say is, thank-you. Thank-you Jeremiyah for everything you gave on and off of the field. Go continue to be great.
