As the Winter Olympics ceremony closes out the Olympic Games, gold has been presented countless times in recent weeks. While there was no football played in Milan Cortina, it seems Munich wanted to take part in the fun. In perfect timing, it appears as though Bayern Munich will be going with a gold design for their home shirts for the 2026/27 season.
Footy Headlines has leaked Bayern Munich’s home kit for next season and it is eerily similar to the Bavarian’s home shirt from the 2012/13 season. While
the kit is fairly clean and simple, the gold band design is the perfect accent for Bayern.
This shirt brings back instant nostalgia and will give fans memories of Toni Kroos, Bastian Schweinsteiger, or Mario Mandžukić. A season that will be fondly remembered, topped off with the memorable finale with Bayern beating rivals Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final.
While the kit closely resembles the 2012/13 home shirt, it is not the most recent time that Bayern has donned gold on their shirts. Several times in recent years, Bayern has opted for gold, pairing it it with white for an away kit, or with black for a third kit.
It seems as though gold has become somewhat of a safe bet in terms of shirt sales, and Adidas is looking to cash in on the favorite theme. What are your thoughts on the leaks? Let us know in the comments!
