Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we are talking about Mizzou Football.
Just one day separates Mizzou fans from Faurot Field as the season is almost underway.
Drinkwitz announced some news on Tuesday…
With Beau Pribula set to start the first half, it seems like he is the frontrunner in front of Sam Horn in the race.
Either way, Horn will get his chance to prove himself during the second half — similarly to 2023. Everybody knows who won that competition…
53-man rosters were finalized ahead of the NFL season and numerous former Tigers made moves.
This is unfortunate considering the strong preseason Cook had. He might make it onto a practice squad still. Other players like Javon Foster and Cody Schrader were also waived.

- The Morning Commute from Sammy Stava: Mizzou Football Officially Announces Sellout for Season Opener
The sellout streak continues which is now at 13 games dating back to the 2023 season. And looking ahead to Thursday night — the weather forecast couldn’t be better.
A good sign that Faurot Field will be packed for the QB race. The atmosphere should be electric.
In a game where Mizzou should win rather easily – the biggest focus is how will Pribula and Horn play against inferior competition. Stay tuned for Nathan Hurst’s piece later as he’ll examine what each quarterback can show that could potentially win them the starting job.
I voted 4. I think whichever QB gets 3 touchdown passes will earn the starting gig. That being said, Pribula will be in a better position to do that playing in the first half.
“Somebody’s got to run out there first. I’ve done it before where, hey, you’re going to alternative two series a piece. I don’t like that, I don’t think that gives the guy enough to develop a rhythm.” -Eli Drinkwitz
Both quarterbacks will get their opportunity he’s saying, but I think it could’ve been done different. Maybe drive-for-drive.
Over at Rock M+ we have more Mizzou football discussion in forums ahead of kickoff.
