We’re coming off of a pretty quiet week of recruiting for everyone’s favorite college basketball conference. The league landed just one commitment ahead of the early signing period, with said prospect
signing with the Boilermakers immediately.
Here’s what you need to know from the past week:
Purdue lands commitment from 4-star center over Big Ten rivals
Matt Painter and Purdue landed a commitment from Sinan Huan, a 4-star center in the class of 2026 out of Georgetown Preparatory School in Windermere, Florida, over Big Ten rivals Illinois and Ohio State, with the three making up Huan’s finalists. He was playing Big Ten basketball one way or another.
Huan, a true 7-footer, gives the Boilermakers even more depth at center next season with 7’4” Daniel Jacobsen likely lined up to start. That’s a nightmare scenario for teams which depend on getting looks at the rim, with one protector coming off the bench for the other. And Huan, who’s originally from China, didn’t just commit to Purdue, he signed as well.
On3/Rivals ranks Huan as the sixth highest-rated center and 64th highest rated prospect nationally in their industry ranking.
