Barcelona’s clash with Celta Vigo on Wednesday in La Liga brought fresh controversy after a brilliant goal by Ferran Torres was disallowed for offside in the second half.
The Catalans were already leading 1-0 thanks to a Lamine Yamal penalty when Pedri picked out Torres and the Shark supplied a brilliant finish to double the hosts’ lead.
However, the goal was promptly ruled out for offside, meaning the game stayed at 1-0. The offside image has now been revealed and it looks to be yet another bizarre
decision.
Check it out below:
This is the second time this month that Barca have had a goal ruled out in this way. Ferran Torres was also denied against Espanyol when Eric Garcia was deemed to be offside in the build up.
The decision will surely add to Barcelona and Hansi Flick’s frustrations on what’s turning out to be a tough night for the Catalans. Barca lost Joao Cancelo and Lamine Yamal in the first half after both players picked up injuries.
