Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025.
- Ex-UFC fighter who survived event-canceling assassination attempt gunned down in fatal drive-by shooting: RIP to Suman Mokhtarian, gone too young.
- UFC knockout artist ’taking time out’ after disastrous weight cut, cancelled fight: In the very near future, the UFC may be Tafa-less — the end of an era.
- Jon Jones’ path to Alex Pereira at UFC White House revealed — ‘I’ll see you at 205 pounds’: I see no chance of Jon Jones returning to Light Heavyweight at 38 years of age. After multiple years of eating steaks and throwing big weights around, “Bones” is going to switch up to salads and cardio? Ain’t happening.
Insomnia
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Sean Strickland! Automatic guns and motorbikes,
it’s the “Tarzan” way.
Throwing hands runs in the Malott family blood!
Honestly my first take away looking at this record is how impressive it is for Bantamweight TJ Dillashaw to stack up amongst the other bigger legends.
Between the officiating and the scorecards, Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Paul Hughes 2 was pretty egregious.
Brazilian Light Heavyweight legacy:
Joe Pyfer wouldn’t want to fight a guy coming off a win like Paulo Costa, not when ultra high-profile names like Marvin Vettori are available.
Uriah Hall signing with Karate Combat a ton of sense for all parties involved. Wonder if he fights Sam Alvey sometime soon? Multiple years where it could’ve happened in the UFC.
Slips, rips, and KO clips
One of my favorite clips in recent memory. What kind of psychopath wants to fight Cyrille Diabate?!? The man is 52 years old, sure, but he’s also 6’6” and very obviously knows how to move. Toe stab!
Trapped in a d’arce choke with absolutely nowhere to go:
Slipped right into this left head kick:
Random Land
Outrageous rapids.
