His initial WWE contract was revealed somewhat dramatically (and possibly designed to show up AEW and CMLL) back in 2022, but it looks like there will be a lot less suspense about former WWE Tag champ Dragon Lee’s second deal with the company — unless you count his recent Intercontinental title classics, like the Triple Threat this past Monday night (Oct. 19) on Raw in San Diego.
After his one-on-one thrilled with champion Chad Gable in Mexico City last month, Triple H told Lee he needed the second-generation
luchador “long-term”. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reports (on the site’s “Elite” subscription tier) that Hunter will have him long-term, because Lee and WWE struck a new deal. No details of the new contract are confirmed or announced, but there’s speculation Lee’s re-upped for five years.
There had been some question about Lee’s next move, especially before his recent resurgence as one of Gable’s challengers. But most of the drama this time surrounds his brothers, both of who are currently under contract to AEW. Dragon Lee, Dralistico, and RUSH are La Bestia del Ring’s sons.
Lee’s older brother Dralistico (who used to wrestle under the name Dragon Lee) doesn’t seem happy working for Tony Khan, at least based on this X/Twitter post and accompanying AI-generated image of himself in shackles…
Bryan Alvarez of f4wonline and Wrestling Observer posted that Dralistico’s AEW deal is up in December. Their brother RUSH confirmed reports that he’s been sidelined by visa issues, and is contentedly awaiting his opportunity to get back to wrestling for AEW and Ring of Honor next year once those issues are resolved:
Excited for WWE to maybe have another set of Lucha brothers? Thoughts on El Toro Blanco’s next move for one of Tony Khan’s promotions? Let us know in the comments below.
