Pau Cubarsi has backed Barcelona’s proposed move for Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi amid talk that the forward will arrive at the Camp Nou this week in a deal worth up to €29 million.
The Barcelona defender has faced Adeyemi in the Champions League with Barcelona and says he can be a difficult opponent to handle.
“Adeyemi is a very good player, with many skills, who makes things complicated for you,” he told RAC1. “If he wants to come, let him come, but if not, we also have magnificent players.”
Dortmund confirmed on Sunday that Adeyemi has been given permission to miss the team’s pre-season medical checks due to transfer negotiations.
Adeyemi is expected in Barcelona this week for a medical and to put pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Camp Nou.
The 24-year-old will then link up with his new team-mates for pre-season training ahead of a trip to England for a training camp and friendlies against Birmingham City and Preston.
