Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich never stops looking for an advantage.
After a rough-and-tumble 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the latest edition of Der Klassiker, the Germany international started gathering knowledge on Bayern Munich’s next Champions League opponent, Atalanta.
Kimmich said that he spoke to some Borussia Dortmund players about Atalanta and one thing stood out — the poor quality of Atalanta’s pitch.
“The Dortmund players just said that the pitch there is relatively bad,”
Kimmich told Tz.
You have to hand it to Kimmich, right? He never stops working. Surely, he was watching the Dortmund vs. Atalanta Champions League Playoff Round match intently.
Well, maybe not.
“I was already in bed,” Kimmich said.
(Author’s Note: Amen, brother).
When asked about what he can expect to face in Italy in March, Kimmich offered a brief statement: “The atmosphere there is very, very intense.”
A tough crowd, a quality team, and a treacherous terrain of turf? Bayern Munich has it work cut out for it.
