Learning a new language can be very difficult. Luis Díaz learned that the hard way when he moved from FC Porto to Liverpool and tried to learn the English language. Fast forward many years and he moved to Bayern Munich still struggling with his English. Now he had to learn German as well!
The Colombian has made no secret of his struggles to learn German in a recent interview with Sky Germany, but professes to loving everything else about the city. When asked what he likes about German culture and
what he finds rather strange, Díaz had this to say.
“The people I’ve met here so far, especially within the club, are incredibly kind and warm. They want everything to be perfect and right for me, and I really, really appreciate that,” Díaz said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “The people who work here at the club are always thinking ahead and enjoy working. That reminds me a little bit of Colombia as well. And I really like that mentality. For me, the language is still strange (laughs), or, to put it better: difficult… incredibly difficult. Getting used to it isn’t easy. But other than that, I really can’t complain about anything. The city is incredible. There’s so much beautiful stuff you can do here when you have the time. I’m very happy here. The language is certainly one of the few things I struggle with.”
Munich truly is a beautiful and culturally rich city. Especially for the rich people. But it is good to see that Díaz has settled in so well in Munich. For both him and the club, his arrival in Munich seems to have been a wonderful decision.
