The 6-0 #12 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are back on the road as they head to Durham, North Carolina to face the favorited Duke Blue Devils. Duke currently sits as a 2.5 point favorite per ESPN at time
of writing (early afternoon Friday).
The Jackets come off a 35-20 win over Virginia Tech, a score a little flubbed by a garbage time VT touchdown in a game that was never truly close. Tech will be without Ahmari Harvey among other notable names after suffering an injury late in the game against VT. The Jackets for their third straight ACC game will have the health advantage, but the Blue Devils are coming off a bye.
A win for either team will put them in the driver’s seat when it comes to making the ACC Championship game, as both Tech and Duke are 3-0 in ACC play thus far. Duke has the harder schedule after today, facing Clemson and #18 Virginia before the season’s out, considerably harder than Tech’s schedule. In theory, Tech’s chances at the playoffs aren’t gone with a loss if they win out, as they’d still have a great shot at the ACC Championship game. A win will vault the team’s chances at the playoff with the next great test coming against georgia.
