Lamine Yamal’s been in good spirits in Barcelona training as Hansi Flick’s side prepare for Sunday’s La Liga game against Rayo Vallecano.
The Barcelona teenager was spotted teasing Robert Lewandowski, calling the 37-year-old veteran “grandpa” as the players were put through their paces.
There’s an almost 20-year age gap between
Yamal and Lewandowski, and the Poland international has spoken about what it’s like to work with such a youthful squad.
“I was in a different world, in a different generation. I’m older than the players’ fathers. I’m older than Lamine’s father, for example, and so I said to myself: ‘Come on, I have to learn from them too’,” he told the High Performance podcast.
Lewandowski and Yamal were both on target in midweek in the Champions League win over Newcastle and will be hoping for more goals against Rayo. After that, both players will head off on international duty.
