What is the story about?
Well, the first edition of Der Klassiker is behind us. Frankly, good riddance. I don’t think it’s necessarily a game any Dortmund fan looks forward to, and once we get it over with, we can get back to the season. There are certainly some questions to be asked in the aftermath of the match, and some of the team shared thoughts to the media. Not that it makes any difference to the outcome!
BVB News
- Niko Kovac had some chippy words for the referee team after the match in Munich, saying, “the performance was poor. Now I’m going to get in trouble again, but I have to say it”.
- Nico Schlotterbeck quieted criticism around Harry Kane’s goal, stating, “there was a push, but we have to defend that better. It wasn’t easy, but he (Kane) did well”.
- Aaron Anselmino reportedly only traveled to Munich in support of the squad, he is still not entirely fit.
Bundesliga News
- Everyone in the Bundesliga decided to win, since Dortmund lost. How kind. Leipzig squeaked past Hamburg, Stuttgart battered Wolfsburg, and Leverkusen played out a 4-3 thrilled against Mainz, with two goals for Alejandro Grimaldo.
- Bayern Munich have distanced themselves from suggestions that former player Jerome Boateng is working for the club, clarifying that he would only “observe and watch some training sessions.” The idea of Boateng, who was found guilty in 2024 of bodily harm to his former partner, returning to Munich drew significant ire from the fans.
Your Thoughts?
Should Dortmund be dwelling on this loss, or looking ahead to the Champions League match against Copenhagen? Yea,
that’s on Tuesday!
