Barcelona boss Hansi Flick was a happy man after seeing his team beat Athletic Club 1-0 in La Liga to restore their four-point lead at the top of the table.
Lamine Yamal scored a brilliant winner for the visitors, while Pedri also made an impact after coming on at half-time.
Flick made it clear after the game that Pedri had made a big difference to his team’s performance.
“I said it before, Pedri makes everyone better. He changes the game. He connects very well. Olmo also played better in the second
half. But the important thing is that everyone fought as a unit,” he told reporters.
“It’s not easy to play here. I think we had to manage the minutes after Tuesday’s game. I really value the win. And we kept a clean sheet.”
Flick also spoke about how much he appreciates the three points at a difficult away ground.
“I really appreciate them for what I see. I wasn’t nervous today. I saw them after it the 3-0 and I had confidence in them,” he added.
“That’s what we’re aiming for: this great atmosphere and focusing on daily training. Today it was clear that it’s not easy to win in this great stadium, with this great team and great fans. It’s amazing to win here.”
Barca now switch focus to the Champions League and the first leg of a last 16 tie against Newcastle.
