The Atlanta Braves begin their final road trip of the 2025 season by heading to the nation’s capital for four games over three days against the Washington Nationals. It will also be the first of seven games with the Nats between now and the end of the season.
Tuesday will include a double-header, as the two teams will make-up a game postponed back on May 21. Also, Monday is Roberto Clemente day across baseball.
It doesn’t matter how many times this has been said, it still sounds wrong to say that the
Braves are one of the worst teams in the National League, but that is unequivocally true. The Nationals are one of the few teams that have been worse than Atlanta, but there’s a chance that the Braves could slide behind the Nationals depending on the outcome of these two series.
It is sort of a battle of who could care less, given that both teams have no benefit from winning (this series). It is still Braves baseball, and that is something, but it is hard to offer up a compelling reason to watch this series outside of diehard fandom.
The Braves head to Detroit to face the Tigers over the weekend before heading back to Atlanta for the final two match-ups of the year
