Saturday will likely be the best chance for Purdue to secure a third victory on the season as it hosts Rutgers for homecoming. As it stands, Purdue is likely to start backup QB, Malachi Singleton, as starter Ryan Browne was deemed ‘doubtful’ earlier this week. Right now, our friends over at Fan Duel Sportsbook have Purdue as a 2.5-point underdog against Rutgers. Of course, any news regarding who will start at QB for Purdue could sway the odds, so be sure to go to Fan Duel for the most up to date
odds.
Rutgers so far this year has had an up and down season. The Scarlet Knights started the season on the right track, winning its first 3 games against Ohio, Miami (OH), and Norfolk State, though the victory against Ohio was quite narrow. Once conference play began, Rutgers tumbled, dropping 4 straight games to Iowa, Minnesota, Washington, and Oregon. The Minnesota loss was particularly painful as Rutgers held a 28-24 lead in the fourth quarter and ultimately missed a game-tying field goal with 17 seconds left. Now, the Scarlet Knights get to head to West Lafayette where either Rutgers or Purdue will get their first conference win of the season. Let the battle commence.
