After the emotional roller coaster against Arsenal, Bayern Munich seemed destined for a difficult afternoon in its Sunday’s trip to Freiburg. Vincent Kompany was absent, Joshua Kimmich was unavailable, and the team had to regroup quickly. Nonetheless, Bayern delivered a 3-1 win and showed that this squad has plenty of ways to get the job done.
So, what impressed you the most? Here are some options for you to ponder, but you are not limited to them:
- Dayot Upamecano’s individual brilliance: That goal was a reminder that Upa is not just a defensive monster. The man can take matters into his own hands, too!
- Michael Olise being Michael Olise: Another day, another reminder that Bayern has something special on their hands. The creativity, the confidence, the end product—just ridiculous.
- Aaron Danks stepping up: With Kompany sidelined, Danks took charge and helped guide Bayern to an important victory under unusual circumstances.
- Tom Bischof and Konrad Laimer taking over the midfield: With Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović out, the pair stepped up and helped Bayern maintain control in the middle of the pitch.
- Jonas Urbig delivering in goal: Another opportunity to show why Bayern Munich has so much confidence in its young goalkeeper.
Or was it the overall mentality? Bayern responded
to adversity, managed a tricky away fixture, and picked up three valuable points.
What impressed you the most about Bayern Munich’s win over Freiburg? Was it an individual performance, the coaching, the midfield, or the team’s ability to get the job done despite everything going on around the club?
