Former UFC middleweight Sam Alvey, who resurrected his combat sports career in Karate Combat, will transition to the world of bare knuckle boxing after signing a multi-fight deal with BKFC. His first fight will take place at the promotion’s Dec. 4 event in Hershey, Pa., against an opponent to be named.
“The first BKFC event I watched was headlined by Paige VanZant and I was hooked immediately,” Alvey said. “I signed with BKFC because I will be the Ironweight World Champion. By April 2027, I will have
my hand held high and the BKFC belt around my waist. I am here to make history and to cement my name as one of the most dominant combat sports athletes the world has ever known.”
Alvey, who turned 40 back in May, was jettisoned from UFC after going winless in nine straight fights. He later resurfaced in Karate Combat and became one of the promotion’s top stars, defeating fellow UFC castaways like Uriah Hall and Antônio Arroyo while winning a couple of belts along the way.
