Orioles vs Pirates, 6:35 EDT
MASN/MASN+
Kyle Bradish takes the mound for the Orioles tonight. His success could mean success for the 2026 Orioles, so in that sense, this is a game worth watching. It’s also worth watching if you’re just a fan of baseball. In two starts so far, Bradish has pitched 10 innings with 15 strikeouts. That’ll play. For me, every start Bradish makes and feels good afterwards is a victory.
The Pirates’ lineup is not intimidating. With an average of 3.62 runs per game, they are
dead last in baseball. They have no hitters in their lineup with an OPS+ over 103. The one with 103 is 38-year-old Andrew McCutcheon. They have a total offensive fWAR of 6.0, which is second-worst in baseball and less than half that of the also disappointing Orioles (13.8). They were swept by the Brewers over the weekend.
Mike Burrows will take the mound for the Pirates. He has made 16 starts and three relief appearances this season with a 4.08 ERA. He has good strikeout numbers, with 82 K’s in 81.2 IP. But he does walk a fair amount, with 29 on the season. That’s 3.2 walks per nine innings. Burrows isn’t great, but he’d be the third-best pitcher on the Orioles behind Trevor Rogers and Bradish.
