Marwan Rahiki appears to be the real deal at 145 pounds as the rising featherweight prospect delivered a brutal knockout finish over short-notice newcomer, Ollie Schmid, earlier this morning (Sat., May 2, 2026) at UFC Perth LIVE on Paramount+ from inside RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.
If Rahiki’s name rings a bell it should. The 23-year-old was coming off a jaw-breaking Octagon debut back in March and carried a 100% finish rate into the cage this weekend in Australia. “Freaky” had all the hype in the world,
but he needed to deliver in a big spot on UFC Perth’s main card. Standing in his way was Schmid, who only had four days to prepare for his official UFC debut.
Despite his young age and lofty expectations, Rahiki came out in the first round cool, calm, and collected. The young striker waited for the perfect opportunity to pounce and it came about halfway through the frame. Rahiki uncorked a perfectly-placed left hook at the end of a blitz that stuck Schmid and sent him crashing to the canvas. A few follow-up shots later and the referee was stepping in for the stoppage.
