The Las Vegas Raiders signed veteran defensive end Patrick Johnson as a free agent recently.

Size:
6-2, 248 pounds.
NFL experience:
Johnson entered the league with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021 and was with them until he was cut in 2024 after playing in one game for the Eagles. He finished that season with the Giants. playing 12 games there Johnson, who was with the Eagles with some members of the Raiders’ front office, played for the Eagles in 2025. He has played 70
games in the NFL in the regular season with two starts. He was cut this offseason by the New England Patriots. He has one career sack.
Drafted:
Johnson was drafted in the seventh round in 2021.
College:
He went to Tulane and was the school’s all-time sack leader.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Johnson, 28, has a lot of NFL experience, but he’s been a fringe player. The Raiders are familiar with him and feel good about his ability. He will have to make plays in the preseason and in training camp to crack the 53-man roster. He could be a strong candidate to make the practice squad.
