After injuries to wide receivers Rashid Shaheed and Velus Jones Jr., the Seattle Seahawks are adding a pair of pass catchers to their practice squad, including “Hard Knocks” star Montorie Foster Jr.
The Seahawks announced that wideouts Malick Meiga and Foster joined the team’s practice squad on Tuesday, with fullback Jackson Acker and linebacker Josh Ross released to make room for the duo.
Foster, a fan-favorite who balled out in the preseason, made the Seahawks 53-man roster, but was a healthy scratch
in the team’s first six games. The undrafted wide receiver was waived to make room for Anthony Bradford’s return ahead of last week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs and now returns to the Seahawks to hopefully boost their wide receiver depth.
Meiga, a Coastal Carolina product, is an undrafted rookie who spent time with Seattle last month after he spent training camp with the Carolina Panthers. The Montreal native was released by the team on Oct. 19 and returns just over a week later.
The practice squad reshuffling comes ahead of the Seahawks’ Monday night contest against the Chicago Bears, who will be keyed into slowing down star Jaxon Smith-Njigba after his monster game against the Chiefs.
