Over the past couple weeks, Bayern Munich assistant Aaron Danks has stepped up to offer some relief to Vincent Kompany while the man in charge dealt with various medical issues. After Kompany collapsed
at the Bayern facility, Danks filled his absence by running the show in Bayern’s 6-1 victory over FC Magdeburg in the second round of the DFB-Pokal.In the postgame interview (via @iMiaSanMia), Danks offered some very positive news on Vincent Kompany.
“Vincent is out of hospital,” said Danks. “That’s
fantastic news. We’re very pleased that he’s getting better. But he needs to rest. He needs to recover, spend time with his family and continue to get better. He’s doing better and is on the road to recovery. We’ll simply try to do our best and prepare for the game on Saturday.”
Danks will continue to operate as the manager. Bayern is also dealing with the absence of Joshua Kimmich due to a death in his family. The squad will be immediately lifted upon their respective returns but will also rely on the available players and coaches to remain as the only undefeated team in Europe.
