Tom Bischof was one of the players left behind this summer at the World Cup that caused the most outrage. The Bayern Munich talent has been a versatile player with a well-rounded game, showing massive potential at his age. It is no wonder why fans were upset to see him excluded for the World Cup squad, but it appears that there is reason to be excited once again.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has stated that Tom Bischof will be nominated by Jürgen Klopp for the UEFA Nations League matches
in the upcoming international break, assuming nothing extraordinary happens. Bischof is the captain of the U21 squad and has already shown huge maturity for his age.
With a changing of the guard coming for the national team, this is an excellent choice to give the young talents in Germany the opportunity to fix Die Mannschaft and set the nation back on track to the top of world football.
How much of a role he will play is a massive question, especially with Klopp’s comments of bringing an ‘XXL squad’, but this is certainly an exciting step in the right direction.
