Joshua Kimmich is one of Bayern Munich’s best and most important players, but the man is borderline maniacal when it comes to being on the pitch.
The 30-year-old will do just about anything to join his
teammates on the field for a game — while an admirable trait, it can sometimes be to the detriment of his health. Kimmich is making big progress in his recovery from ankle issue that has bothered him since mid-November and could be positioning himself to return as early as Sunday vs. VfL Wolfsburg (doubtful) or Wednesday vs. FC Köln (possible).
The Bild report below says that Kimmich is still going to sit out Sunday, but look at his face…T2 was less intense in chasing John Connor through that mall!
In all seriousness, hopefully Kimmich can convince himself to rest a bit, so his ankle can fully heal. Ankle injuries can be tricky and last months. Kimmich is too important to be dealing with a lingering injury for the second half of the season.
