Nebraska sets off on it’s first real road game of the season this week and their coming away with win!
Wintober got started last week and the Huskers are ready to roll through the month.
#1 EMMETT JOHNSON
Getting the rushing
game going early and often is going to be a key for Nebraska this week. Husker running back Emmett Johnson had three rushing touchdowns last week against Michigan State and he’s going to need to pave the way for the Husker attack once again this week.
Maryland boasts the 24th ranked rushing defense in the country, so Nebraska’s ability to get the run game going will be an important key to this game.
# 2 PASSING DEFENSE
Nebraska is the #1 passing defense in the country and they’re going to continue to stand tight against a Maryland team that tends to go to the air often.
The Husker pass rush did a great job getting to a very mobile quarterback against Michigan State and the same thing will need to happen against the Terrapins.
The disruptiveness of Cam Lenhardt and the prowess of DeShon Singleton were big against the Spartans. I’m ready to see more of that against Maryland.
#3 TAKE IT TO THE AIR
The Huskers receivers are ready to play.
Nyziah Hunter showed last week that when he’s locked in it doesn’t even matter how many shoes he’s wearing, he’s going to score.
The Husker pass offense is 2nd in the conference and will be ready to exploit a Maryland pass defense that is 13th.
Dylan Raiola will once again lead his team with poise and he knows his favorite targets will be ready.
#4 SPECIALS TEAMS
Wow, it’s been awhile since we have been able to attribute special teams as a key piece to winning. a game. But, last week they were a big part. Mike Ekeler has been doing a great job with this unit and it shows.
Jacory Barney Jr. should have had a punt return touchdown last week, but this week it’s going to happen.
Hopefully the Huskers don’t have to punt very often, but when they do Archie Wilson will be sure to pin the Terps way back.
#5 NEBRASKA IS UNDEFEATED IN COLLEGE PARK
Nebraska has never lost when playing in Maryland. (Ignore the fact that they’ve only played at College Park once.)
That game was a 54-7 trouncing that hopefully this year’s Huskers can repeat.
GOOOO BIIIIGG REEEEDD!
