The Pittsburgh Steelers and their fans eagerly await the official prognosis of Aaron Rodgers’ injury as we enter the beginning of a new week. The four-time MVP left Pittsburgh’s Week 11 win at the end
of the first half after being taken to the ground and flexing his left wrist. Rodgers went to the locker room just before the end of the half and wouldn’t return to the game.
This left many to speculate on the severity of the injury, which is still unknown. However, Ian Rapoport did give a positive update, as it doesn’t look like Rodgers would miss much time, if any at all.
“For Aaron Rodgers, who has tests today, whether he’s able to play Sunday will be determined by if he can injure himself further and if he can grip a football,” Rapoport posts on X. “He was described as 50-50 for Sunday.”
The fact that Rodgers’ status is more up in the air than a guaranteed no is promising for the long-term. If he can’t suit up on Sunday, Mason Rudolph showed he can get the Steelers through a game and play well enough for them to win. However, Rodgers has been dominant against the Bears in his career, posting a 25-5 record against Chicago (including playoffs) and has only lost in Chicago three times (2008, 2010, 2018).
