Good morning, Broncos Country!
Now comes the fun part.
The preseason games are complete. The work the Denver Broncos have put in now gets the regular-season test. Did the team do enough? How prepared are they for what is to come? Time will tell, but thankfully it’s here.
This is without question the most anticipated Broncos season since 2015, when they won Super Bowl 50. As Rich Eisen said on a recent show, you can’t even call Denver a dark horse anymore because everyone keeps saying this team is a Super Bowl contender. “Watch out for
the Broncos.”
Bring on the regular season.
“Obviously, we have been showing a lot more than just what one drive can offer,” Broncos quarterback Bo Nix said to the media after the final preseason game on Saturday. “It’s good to find the end zone and good to wrap up the preseason and win.”
As I said on social media prior to Nix leading a touchdown drive in the second quarter, freaking out over preseason football. The Broncos are back, baby. Then Nix and the starting offense had their best drive of the preseason, so naturally, that means Denver is now in line to win the Super Bowl. In all seriousness, it was good to see the Broncos get a drive like that to end the preseason.
I don’t believe in carryover from the preseason to the regular season, but that kind of drive definitely boosts confidence heading into the Tennessee Titans game in Week 1.
“Where it was, still pretty high, we all know we put in a lot of work this camp,” receiver Troy Franklin said to the media after Saturday’s game. “All these joint practices, preseason games, and stuff like that. Just have to go out there (for) the next game and do it again.”
Now comes the most anticipated regular season in a decade. Not that it matters, but I can’t wait.
Hold onto your butts.
“They all count,” Nix said. “If you’re going to strap it up, they all count; you want to win them all. We’re excited to start the season and get to Week One and see what happens.”
