WWE has been playing hot potato with the women’s tag team titles of late, with Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley winning it from Fatal Influence and then two weeks later dropping the titles in a surprise loss to Jade Cargill’s Baddies, Michin & B-Fab. On this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, they wrapped all the way back around to Fatal Influence challenging for the titles again.
I bet you can guess what happened without me having to tell you.
I’m going to tell you anyway, of course.
Very shortly
into the match, Bliss and Paxley showed up on the outside and launched an attack on Jacy Jayne and Jade Cargill, who were just standing around in support of their squads. Then they rushed the ring and the match was thrown out when a huge brawl broke out.
Even Bayley ran in to get involved in it. Helping fill out the War Games teams, perhaps?
By the time everyone was laid out, all that remained was Cargill standing tall, so Charlotte Flair made her way out and they played that up as a major 1v1 that they’ll surely be going back to sooner rather than later.
A preview of WrestleMania next year, perhaps?
The babyfaces stood tall by the end of the segment but they laid the groundwork for a lot here.
