Bolting the Blue
Headline says it all, no?
After compiling a 64-13 record, two Big Ten titles, and a national championship, Ol’ Musty Day appears poised to leave Ann Arbor for the dustier, cow-townier pastures of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Per USA Today, he was poised to make $4.85 million in 2026-27, with a buyout reduced to $5 million after the conclusion of last season.
Since the OTE News Desk currently looks like that of every other newsroom in America–abandoned, waiting for its latest acquisition
by a round of venture capital–we don’t really have a TON of comment. I personally think it’s hilarious that Dallas wants Cooper Flagg to be coached by someone who is 0-1 against Northwestern in the NCAA Tournament. But, to each their own!
Brian Gillis: I think I’m going to be sick.
misdreavus79: I’m starting to see a pattern here.
Coach at Michigan.
Win a national title.
Bounce to the pros in the same offseason.
So, which sport is next?
MNW: God willing, none of them. No more national titles for that Sodom and Gomorrah.
This isn’t really, like, a developing story, unless (1) May turns out to be Harbaughing amid a breaking scandal, or (2) it turns out he doesn’t take the Mavericks gig. So feel free to assume he did, unless you hear otherwise.
And happy Monday to everyone in Ann Arbor and beyond!
