While free agency isn’t technically over, teams are far less active in pursuing available players. That creates an opportunity to give a full assessment of a team’s personnel decisions. Although the Falcons made a wide variety of moves to address positional flaws, they didn’t exactly
solidify those concerns with surefire starters who have played at a high level for multiple seasons. The low one-year risks they are taking are to provide a steady infrastructure around their franchise cornerstones and reliable starters.
The new regime’s decision-making can still be questioned, considering how active they were in bringing veterans. The wide receiver, defensive tackle, and linebacker positions remain notable question marks despite new signings being made in all three areas. It raises the question of where the front office could have done better. The wide receiver and defensive tackle were massive positional weaknesses last year. Losing a leader like Kaden Elliss must be concerning for a unit that depended on him. There is no telling what the linebacker position will look like outside of Divine Deablo.
