Lamine Yamal couldn’t resist a dig at Espanyol after playing a starring role in Barcelona’s 4-1 win over their local rivals in La Liga on Saturday.
The teenager scored and bagged two assists on his 100th La Liga outing and took to social media after the game with a post that read: “Barcelona is 💙❤️!! Time to swallow it, as usual.”
Yamal’s words seem to be in response to Espanyol boss Manolo Gonzalez’s post-match comments. He said after the defeat: “In the 85th minute, we were closer to the Les Corts
cemetery than to Camp Nou. When you lose, you have to accept it, you’ve got to swallow it.”
The win means Barcelona move nine points clear at the top of La Liga with just seven games left to play.
Next up in La Liga is a visit from Celta Vigo, but before that there’s the small matter of their Champions League quarter-final second leg at Atletico.
