Bron Breakker can’t be the only frustrated wrestler in WWE these days, right? Let’s see what today’s rumors have to say about it!
Top rumor of the day: Frustrated WWE stars
During the latest episode of The 2 Count, Jonathan Coachman said his sources told him that WWE is “one hundred, no, one thousand percent” behind pushing Austin Theory right now. This is related to why Bron Breakker is pissed off at his own WWE booking.
In fact, Coach indicates there are many frustrated wrestlers in WWE:
“A lot of these talents are talking. They’re contacting
people like myself. They’re trying to get the message out, without doing it themselves, because we’ve seen what’s happened with Damian Priest. You don’t think he’s getting heat backstage for what happened?”
It seems that Coach is referring to Priest’s line on a recent episode of SmackDown where he told Cody Rhodes that the wrestlers in the back are sick and tired of seeing the same handful of people in the top spots in WWE. That line prompted Triple H to dump on wrestlers who are waiting around for their turn without working harder to actually earn it.
Does this mean WWE decision-makers think Austin Theory is working harder for his push than stars like Bron Breakker and Damian Priest? I’ll let you hash that one out in the comments below.
The rest of the rumors!
- Natalya told the Battleground Podcast that she and the Bella Twins “are not taking our foot off the gas” in their fight to bring back Total Divas. She says WWE President Nick Khan “listens to us” and is very collaborative with them about how to make the show bigger and better than ever, in case it does get the green light to return.
- Sources told False Finish that WWE never gave serious thought to the possibility of changing Zilla Fatu’s ring name ahead of his surprise debut in NXT. It sounds like WWE doesn’t plan to rush him to the main roster, even though there is an obvious spot for him in The Bloodline angle.
- For whatever it’s worth, Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer says there is “no way” WWE books Roman Reigns vs. Psycho Clown in the world championship match on next month’s Raw in Mexico City.
- Meltzer also mentioned that what’s going on with Bayley’s WWE’s status right now is “the same thing that’s going on with Dragunov.”
- Wrestling Observer Radio’s Bryan Alvarez speculated that Fatal Influence may need to change their finishing move after Interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green suffered a broken orbital bone taking the move last week on SmackDown. At the very least, Alvarez has heard “people within wrestling” say Fatal Flaw is “not a good finish anyway.”
- On his What Happened When podcast, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone said there was a brief security lockdown backstage after last week’s AEW Collision taping due to a suspicious duffel bag that needed to be inspected.
- Court Bauer told Who’s The Champ that MLW is in talks with Tessa Blanchard, following her exit from TNA.
