The transfer portal is officially open, and since North Carolina has a new coach in place, it is as important as ever for the Tar Heels — especially considering Dusty May just won a National Title while starting four guys who played college basketball somewhere else last season (fifth starter Nimari Burnett was also a transfer, but did so before May arrived in Michigan), including our very own Elliot Cadeau, who won Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.
So, our question for the day is who is your
favorite North Carolina Transfer?
For me, I will always have a soft spot for Brady Manek. Between the wild beard, the relentless play, or the big time threes and leadership, Manek was part of a team that did things no one thought they could do and came up just short of the ultimate goal. Manek finished his lone season at Chapel Hill 539 points, 247 rebounds, while hitting over 40% of his 243 three point attempts. Manek not only set career highs in points and field goal percentage — he also set the bar for any future Tar Heel Transfer to clear. When someone asks if so-and-so is going to be the next Brady Manek, you can bet did well and earned their spot in the North Carolina legends circle.
Who is your favorite Tar Heel transfer (can be any transfer, not just the ones during the recent transfer era)? Let us know in the comments below.
