Historically, Kentucky Football fans haven’t had all that much to look forward to once the month of October arrived. Under Will Stein’s leadership, the Cats are aiming to change that unfortunate fact in 2026.
So far, they’re off to one heck of a start through four games.
UK currently ranks 24th in the nation after handling business and beating South Alabama 45-21 on Saturday afternoon inside Kroger Field, improving their record to 3-1 on the season. Next up for Kentucky is a South Carolina team that
is on the verge of a meltdown under head coach Shane Beamer.
The Gamecocks are slight 2.5-point favorites, but if UK can handle business, it would set the stage for a colossal matchup with #11 LSU in Lexington on October 10th. Kickoff time has been confirmed for 7 PM ET on ESPN.
Props to the Kentucky PR team for their plan to capitalize on Lane Kiffin’s trip to the Commonwealth by suggesting that Wildcat fans are in for some form of a “retro night” during their matchup with LSU.
Who doesn’t love a throwback vibe?
The infamous “Power K” made a subtle appearance on the official UK Football social media graphic that began floating around on Monday. This offered a strong hint that we’re in store for a nostalgic treat on October 10th.
Over the years, fans have continually clamored for more usage of retro logos, with the Power K typically leading the charge. There’s no denying that its simplistic form just looks awesome and has always held up to the test of time. It’s probably fair to say that most members in the BBN have a piece of apparel that shows off one of their favorite retro logos.
Can you imagine upsetting the LSU Tigers while rocking the Power K helmets?
That dream could become reality in less than two weeks. In Will Stein We Trust.
