Anthony Gordon’s name is back in the spotlight on Wednesday, with a new exclusive from Mundo Deportivo claiming that Deco has held talks with the Newcastle star over a summer transfer to Barcelona.
The England international is said to be prioritising a move to Barcelona over Bayern or Liverpool, while Barcelona are willing to offer Gordon a five-year contract.
Gordon does seem destined to leave Newcastle after a season where he scored 10 goals in 12 Champions League appearances but only six in 26 Premier
League outings.
The Daily Mail are also reporting on the potential transfer, adding that Barca “must sell players in order to be able to register Gordon, but the finances of a transfer are achievable.”
The two club are also said to be discussing the structure of a potential deal “with the total package including add-ons edging towards £80million.”
