Ahead of a Sunday matchup with the Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers interim head coach Tiago Splitter provided some promising injury updates to reporters after team practice on Saturday.
Trail Blazers team reporter Casey Holdahl relayed that information on social media, presenting status updates on Blazers centers Donovan Clingan and Robert Williams III, as well as guards Jrue Holiday and Matisse Thybulle.
Sounds like Donovan and Rob will play versus Warriors. Jrue is getting close [to
returning], Matisse is still out.
Clingan has missed the past three games due to a left lower leg contusion, while Williams has missed the past two due to an illness. Holiday has missed the past 13 games due to a right calf strain. Thybulle has missed the last 20 games after undergoing surgery to repair a tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb.
The Blazers tip off against the Warriors at the Moda Center on Sunday at 6 p.m. Pacific.
We’ll have a more definitive update on the statuses of Clingan and Williams for Sunday’s game when the Blazers release their injury report later on Saturday.
