Xavi Simons has been linked with a return to Barcelona during the international break as the rumor mill goes into overdrive due to the lack of domestic football.
It’s been claimed Simons wants to come back to Barcelona as he’s not happy with life battling relegation in the Premier League with Tottenham.
However, Barcelona aren’t thinking about trying to bring Simons back for several reasons, according to Diario Sport.
The first comes down to finance. It’s claimed it would cost around €45 million to land
Simons from Tottenham, a price that Barcelona don’t want to pay.
The Catalans also believe that spending money to re-sign Simons “would send the wrong message to the academy” as it was the playmaker’s decision tto leave Barca back in 2019.
Barcelona also have higher priorities this summer. As we all know, a center-back and a center-forward are being sought, while Barca also have to make a decision on Marcus Rashford’s future.
