August results
Well, this is awkward. The August poll actually went up before the switch over to the new, improved version of the SnakePit, and the poll results seem to have got lost in the transition. I’ve currently got a request in to see if they can be found. But for now, we should probably just presume they were not good, considering the team had a brutal 9-16 record, forcing them into being sellers at the deadline. The figure at the start of July was 3.81, and I would be very surprised if the August number
was not lower. It’s probably for the best they got lost, in a “my dog ate my homework” kind of way, but I will update this, should they appear…
This space therefore left intentionally blank..
September poll
Well, it’s September by Greenwich Mean Time, anyway! Monday looks likely to be quite busy on the site, so I thought I might as well get a jump on things. I suspect, to the enormous surprise of everyone – and I likely include Torey Lovullo and Mike Hazen there – the D-backs sold off some of their most important players at the deadline, and then enjoyed their most successful month of the season. #YCPB. It was largely fueled by the offense, which rebounded from just 92 runs in July to score @@@ in August, with Lourdes Gurriel Jr. probably showing the biggest improvement. Zac Gallen’s return to form and the closer committee played their part as well. But is it a false dawn, or a genuine sign of better things to come?
That would be what the poll is for. As ever, feel free to explain your choice in the comments, especially if it has changed from the previous one.
