(#8)Ole Miss at (#13)Oklahoma
Noon, ABC
Two one-loss teams fighting for survival in a crowded SEC field. Both teams are coming off disappointing losses – who is ready to bounce back? John Mateer hasn’t quite been himself since returning from injury, and a win against Ole Miss could set up the Sooners for an exciting stretch run in a wild SEC race.
Prediction: Oklahoma-30, Ole Miss-27
Kansas at Kansas State
Noon, TNT/HBO Max
Neither team is having the season they were hoping for, but you have to appreciate
a good ol’ fashioned in-state rivalry with plenty of hate between the two schools. Prediction: Kansas-31, Kansas State-24
Auburn at Arkansas
12:45 p.m., SEC Network
Both of these teams could be having surprisingly good seasons, but they keep finding ways to lose close games. Someone has to win this week at least. Auburn’s stingy defense that will be tested against an explosive Razorbacks offense. On the other side of the ball, the Tigers could find some success against an Arkansas defense that has trouble stopping any offense with a pulse.
Prediction: Arkansas-27, Auburn-24
(#15)Missouri at (#10)Vanderbilt
3:30 p.m., ESPN
College GameDay is heading to the Music City for a game with a top ten Vanderbilt. What a time to be alive. Diego Pavia is perhaps the most exciting player to watch with his ability to always find a way to make a play when needed. This should be a thrilling, hard fought game between two teams who are looking to shake things up in the SEC.
Prediction: Vanderbilt-33, Missouri-28
(#11)BYU at Iowa State
3:30 p.m., FOX
BYU was off to an extremely quiet 6-0 start due to a soft schedule that would become much more difficult in the second half of the season. They passed their first test with flying colors, taking down Utah in the Holy War. They will look to stay unbeaten against an Iowa State squad that is always difficult to beat, with several more challenges ahead.
Prediction: BYU-21, Iowa State-20
(#22)Texas at Mississippi State
4:15, SEC Network
Hear me out on this – Texas barely escaped Kentucky last week with an overtime win after scoring just 10 points in regulation. Meanwhile, Mississippi State came up just short of upsetting Tennessee and Florida in recent weeks. This just feels like one of those games where the Football Gods set things right with a wild finish and the sound of cowbells as the soundtrack for the Longhorns season officially come crashing down after starting the season at #1.
Prediction: Mississippi State-20, Texas-16
(#3)Texas A&M at (#20)LSU
7:30 p.m., ABC
This game seems like it will either be a nail-biter until the clock hits 0:00, or over by halftime depending on the resiliency shown by LSU. The Tigers have their backs to the wall after losing its second game in a season with national title aspirations. Now they have to face an undefeated Aggies squad with a high-powered offense, while their own is stuck in neutral. Either they come out swinging and have their best game of the season to keep up, or they pack it in prove to be no match for A&M.
Prediction: Texas A&M-28, LSU-17
