Bayern Munich and Germany defender Jonathan Tah is glad to see Leroy Sané back with the men’s national team. Though the pair did not overlap for a season in Bavaria — Sané departing for Galatasaray this
summer as Tah arrived — they still know each other well.
“He’s very positive. I’m happy that Leroy is here, I’ve known him for a long time and we’re friends. He’s performing, that’s why he’s here. And he’ll perform here as well,” Tah said at a Germany presser last week, as captured via @iMiaSanMia.
Tah’s comments came before Germany’s two matches this November — and sure enough, Sané delivered. The Galatasaray winger had key involvements in both goals against Luxembourg and scored twice, sensationally, in Germany’s storming win over Slovakia.
After the clouds of September, Germany is now sailing smooth into next summer’s World Cup — and its mercurial playmaker is back in the fold.
