The LSU Tigers won a surprisingly tough one vs. LA Tech and now enter the SEC gauntlet. This game against Florida is a true narrative shaping one, as Brian Kelly vs. Billy Napier will be a clash of coaches as much as anything else. Which style will prove victorious?
This one to open SEC play is no joke either, Florida did beat the Tigers last season and are coming off a huge loss vs. USF. Can it be tough setting a game plan here, yes, and it is why the predictions this week need to be sharp.
From third
down efficacy, player props, team defense/offense numbers, team totals and more, we will have a little bit of everything as we roll on this season. What will this week bring?
Last season we ended with a negative record for the first time, but still ended up positive because of some big swings we took odds wise (2022: 19-17, 2023: 19-17, 2024: 16-20) and we hope to do better this time around. We hope to continue the season strong. (4-2 in 2025)
Today, we take a look at predicting three specific areas for the team. Remember these are bold predictions. (All stats via CFBSTATS)
1 LSU -4.5 First Half (-104, FanDuel)
Full game plays are so passe, give me an LSU first half spread line and I like this one to hit because even though we all should expect Florida’s best effort a 10-3, 14-6 or any similar scenario gives us a win. I do expect the game to be closer by the end, which is why we take this first half bet.
LSU needs the win and I do think they will lead most if not all of the game. Bet on Nuss and the boys to carry the Tigers to a win.
2 Garrett Nussmeier 2+ Passing TD’s + Zavion Thomas (LSU) 3+ Receptions (+236, FanDuel)
Prop parlay? Let’s ride! Nuss Bus will need to be firing in this one and with the run game being consistent, we can see some play action develop quickly.
Zavion has also proven to be quite the player and really a Swiss army type of player that can do it all. That should inspire this game as he looks to get at least three receptions.

3 LSU Team Total OVER 27.5 (+100, FanDuel)
This one is really more about Florida’s defense than LSU’s offense. While they looked just decent vs. an undermanned LA Tech side, Florida looked even worse against a possible playoff team in the Bulls of USF.
With this one, we hope the scores come in bunches and scoring on their initial drive would go a long way to securung this win. Skill players will need to show up, but I like the Tigers here.
Final score prediction: LSU 31-20 Florida
