The Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) will face the Houston Texans (0-1) at 1:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, Sept. 21 at EverBank Stadium.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Jaguars are 1.5-point favorites and the total is set at 43.5 points.
Jacksonville is coming off a brutal loss in Cincinnati where Bengals backup QB Jake Browning completed 21 of 32 passes for 241 yards with 3 touchdowns (1 rushing) and 2 interceptions. Joe Burrow left the game in the second quarter with a turf toe injury.
Meanwhile, Trevor Lawrence
completed 24 of 42 attempts for 271 yards, 3 touchdowns (would’ve been 4 if not for a drop by Dyami Brown) and 2 interceptions. His chemistry with Brian Thomas Jr., who finished with just 4 catches on a team-high 12 targets, continues to look lackluster.
“I thought they played their asses off,” coach Liam Coen said of his team after the game. “We competed, played physical, and just didn’t make enough plays at the end … Players and coaches alike, we gotta go look at ourselves in the mirror and go figure that out.”
The Texans will play their second game of the season tonight, when they host the Buccaneers in the first of two Monday Night Football matchups.
Jacksonville has won just four of its past 22 games against Houston including two losses last season.
